Dear friends,
My blog has become inactive or “cob-web” for some time due to my busy schedule, and you know I have not been feeling well for about 10 days last month.

Today, I am looking at all the old emails and old pictures which my assistant has helped me to put on my blog some time ago, and I am trying to write some old stories.

This piece is about a moving event that I have attended, i.e. the fund raising dinner organised by Parents Resource for Autism (PR4A) held on 27th April 2008. My former USM classmate Pang Hin Yue has been the one that strongly persuaded me to attend the dinner. She even wrote the speech for me to speak for that night.

Before attending the event, I knew very little about autism cases, I was made awared of them now after the dinner event, and I truly pity the parents who raised up these autism children.

The young boy is an autism child. He drew all these fine pieces that hang on the wall.

Dear Teresa,

Congratulations on Pakatan’s success in the recent general election. I hope my vote counted!

I’m writing to you about the recent increase in petrol price because I do not know who else to approach (i’ve written to The Star but surprise surprise, they’ve not published my article). The debate is an old one, and reading online comments posted by Malaysians has got me thinking. Whilst the increase is affecting me and my family as well, there are more pressing issues worth considering apart from worrying about a higher price for my daily char kwey teow. Continue Reading »

 Letter from Readers

I stay in Bukit Indah, OUG. Yesterday there was a car theft in front of my house. There were 3 men who broke into my neighbor’s car, because the car alarm went off, and they looked very suspicious. (The car was parked outside her house) I called the police at 1.18am (13th June 2008) at 03-22742222. I called immediately after noticing them. They transferred my called to ‘Bilik Gerakan’.

After informing them about the theft, and also telling them that the thieves were still there and probably would be fleeing off soon. The policeman on the line immediately responded by saying, “Telepon saya bila mereka(thieves) datang lagi!”. Continue Reading »

Burma’s military junta said on Wednesday that detained opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi deserved to be beaten like an errant child for threatening national security.

Seeking to justify the 62-year-old’s latest stretch of house arrest, now in its sixth year, official newspapers said Suu Kyi and other detainees had been in contact with and had received cash from rebel guerrillas and foreign governments.

“Due to the crimes they have committed, they well deserve flogging punishment as in the case of naughty children,” the papers said in Burmese and English-language editorials thought to reflect the thinking of the junta’s top brass. The editorials added that the government was behaving like the “parent of the people” and exercising “great patience”. Continue Reading »

Dear friend,

Yesterday was the last day of Selangor State Assembly meeting. The sitting was opened by the Sultan of Selangor last Wednesday, there were 31 ADUNs participated in the motion of thanks debate. In this sitting, I am forced to sit there quietly to listen to all the speeches by the back-benchers. The Selangor State Assembly has made historical breakthrough by having web-casting, where people can visit the Selangor government website to observe our DUN sitting. The BN Federal government gave all sorts of excuses for not having live-telecast of Parliament sitting, but we are now setting an example for them.

Many of them whacked the opposition, namely the BN ADUNs for their corrupt practices and abuses in the past. One of the lady ADUN of Pakatan Rakyat expressed regret that not only the male ADUN of BN abused public funds, but their wives also follow their husbands’ foot steps and abused funds in Balkis. Ha ha….

When Azmin Ali delivered his speech as leader of the Back Benchers’ Club, he started his speech by saying the elections results on March 8 have been welcome by all people and all races in the world, this include people in Ijok, Sungai Pinang and Gombak Setia, the Afican and Middle East people, American people and European people, not to leave out the Mongolians. When he mentioned the word “Mongolian”, the BN ADUN for Taman Templer, Dato’ Subahan bin Kamal stood up to protest against him. Azmin took a swipe at him by expressing surprise with this ADUN’s reaction when he mentioned the word “Mongolian”. He then teased him with the sentence that “those who eat chilies will have the spicy taste” (siapa makan cili dia merasa pedas). My winding up speech in the State Assembly today is as follow: Continue Reading »

Last Thursday, a few ACA officers from Putrajaya took my statement in Parliament lounge after the day’s sitting sitting ended over the issue of BN giving away RM200 to Kelantanese voters to go back to cast vote. Please refer to this and this.

I was a bit surprised with these officers as they have not read about this write up in my blog at all until I showed them my blog and all the photos that I have taken on that day. They then wrote the statement from the content of my blog, so save their time and troubles. Continue Reading »
