Understanding how the global capital market is evolving is essential for businesses and investors. The Selangor State Government together with FMM Selangor has arranged for Mr Laurence Brahm to share his extensive knowledge, experience and insights with members in Selangor on the capital market today and what it means to businesses. He will be in Malaysia as a keynote speaker at the forthcoming Asian Capital Markets Conference 2009.
Mr Laurence Brahm will also speak to us about “A New Paradigm for Economic Development, The Himalayan Consensus” – a response to the failed Washington Consensus, Bretton Woods system and neo-liberal capitalism – which embraces three major tenets. First, throw out the economic theories and models and use pragmatism, not ideology. Secondly, encourage and support cultural and ethnic diversity by drawing on indigenous values as guiding principals of economic development.
