Please be guided by Jesus and make His righteousness known through your reflections. It takes courage and boldness. Jesus never promised us a bed of roses, only that He will always be with us. Remember to follow His standards not ours.

We are encouraged by your actions and convictions that you dare to make a difference. As a lawmaker, you have the license and authority to change for the better. We hope you will be empowered to look to the Bible for wisdom on specific practical political issues

For example, the Bible doesn't value liberty for its own sake. It favors freedom because freedom clears a space for our making free moral choices. Where such a choice would be at the expense of someone else's life (abortion), the Bible would most definitely counsel against radical liberty. So too on the issue of drug legalization. The Bible speaks warmly of the value of wine in life (Psalm 104:15), but harder drugs have the effect of undercutting our power to make free choices. There too the Bible would draw a line. Same goes with sex.

We are blessed that you have not listen to the whispers of the devil to look the other way or for convenience. You have not let your guard down and take things for granted by simply saying "that's politics". Instead you have firmly and clearly stand on your convictions and decide to make a change. We continue to pray for God's guardian angels to form a ring of shield against all threats and dangers, for you and family. May you continue to let your light for all men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Amen.
