Having and wanting 30% of women's participation in both the public and private sectors in RMK-9? Achieving and attaining the 30% quota is still a long way to go for women. No effort should be spared by the government to get this target of women's involvement.

There is still gender bias towards women in our multi-racial society. Just of late as a glaring and obvious example, is the non-extension of service of Datuk Rafiah Salim as Vice chancellor of Universiti Malaya. Out of 17 public university VC posts, only one is a woman. Our women of today are just as capable and qualified (if not better) as their men counterparts in whatever field and domain. But yet, they are not given the opportunities and responsibilities due to them. It's high time the authorities and the power-that-be do something about it!
