Ask them what the purpose of electing MPs is? Why take the trouble to hold General Elections when MPs cannot speak out the grouses of the people in Parliament? What then are MPs suppose to do? Just sit in Parliament and say "Aye!" each time BN proposes something, even if it is detrimental to the people??

Dear YB,

I have long given up the 2 speakers of the Dewan as instrument of democracy. Everytime I read about them in the papers, they are reported as rejecting opposition motion.

I ask the public, when they say opposition can't do anything for them, is it opposition's fault entirely?

The public should think about the desruptive role the speakers play. I can see a lot of crap spoken by the BN MPs like longkang of air stewardress, uniform of Asia and MAS, bocor, personal insults and do the speakers do anything about it?

The speakers have failed in their fundamental role - keeping the discussion in the august house relevant and constructive. Various critical issues like the street demonstration, Mongolian girl murder, PKFTZ, Lingam tape etc...all the motions denied for unacceptable reason.

Ramli and Lim should consider opening a bar/mamak stall where they should enjoy presiding the discussion over there. Leave the speakers seat in the Dewan to someone who is more objective and allow relevant discussions only.

If we can't have live telecast of our parliament, fine. Let's have the Australian, Singapore, British or Hong Kong Sessions here live on Astro. At least the public can learn how a proper parliament works.

You are raising too many embarrassing issues that affect the government and his party, so he has to stop you. He's merely a lackey with not much brain, thats all. He is a spoilt brat and a bully and needs to show his authority.

That's how the lackeys of the government prevent MPs, especially those from the opposition from bring up issues in Parliament!
I don't think that you should oblige him by reading your speech at break-neck speed. In fact, every MP, be they from the BN or the opposition must be given a chance to voice their issues at ordinary speaking speed. That's how things are done in developed countries like Great Britain.
I have noticed that many a time, MPs from the opposition are prevented from bring up issues even when they are urgent and of public
interest. This is especially so when the issues being brought up referred to some ineptness or other embarrassing or stupid moves made by the government; this is one way of covering up!
I think now this issue must be resolved like that of the improprieties regarding the election process.
The MPs, especially those in the opposition should now consider ways of overcoming this impediment to their effectiveness instead of obliging the Speaker every time!
