国庆日前两天的下议院会议时，国阵后座议员俱乐部 代主席拉惹阿末突然高喊7声《默迪卡》，国阵议员 声而立，在野党议员愣坐在位子上观赏他们突发的 演出》。
接着副教长诺奥马回答一名国阵议员有关学生校内纪 问题时，他突把矛头指向行动党，指行动党渲染吧 某间中学教师以拳头打女生脸部问题，引发行动党议 员与他相骂。接着野新区议员赛益指行动党议员不爱 ，因为较早前在他们高喊《默迪卡》时，行动党议 没起立。一场朝野更长的骂战于是展开。
较早前，日莱区议员巴达鲁丁演讲时，频叫行动党的 员要读摆在我们桌子上两本有关马来西亚独立的书 也叫我们要高挂国旗，要像他那样把国旗挂在车上。
总之这几个下议院的巫统《顽童》就是在国庆日前要 机会来影射行动党人不爱国。对他们来说，喊《默 卡》时起立、高挂国旗就是爱国的表现，不这样做就 是不爱国。他们只差没说：反对国阵政府就是不爱国
国庆日前夕，当我在独立广场出席倒数50周年国庆活 时，一名柔佛州巫统议员给我一个祝贺《默迪卡》的 手机短讯，我于是把下列短讯传给他及数个巫统顽皮 议员：“国庆日快乐！让我们齐来祷告，让爱国 心、对人权、公正与平等的尊重，能播种在每一个 人的心坎里。”
当晚凌晨12时30分，当我还呆坐在独立广场听首相激动 的演讲时，日莱区国会议员巴达鲁丁突然来电，祝贺 《默迪卡快乐》，说他认同我的手机讯息。听了真 我有点儿意外和惊喜。
独立的意义是什么？在马来文里，《默迪卡》是自由 意思。50年前马来西亚三大民族共同向英殖民地政府 争取摆脱殖民统治，但是50年后的今天，马来西亚虽 独立了，但是我们还是非常的不自由。我们的社会至 今尚无法完全享有宪法上铭刻的宗教信仰自由、言论 由和结社的自由。
在经济方面，政经勾结与贪污滥权，以及新经济政策 留下的种族固打制，仍然腐蚀着我们的政治、经济 文化，严重影响了这国家的进程。
在种族和宗教关系，以及治安方面，我们其实比50年 还倒退，我们的自由更受限制。
这许多国人在独立50年后所面对的问题，都不是高挂 旗和高喊《默迪卡》口号所能解决的。
俗语说：《打是疼你骂是爱》，一个人愈爱国，就应 对国家现有的状况愈有要求和批评，否则这国家的 况就永远无法改善。
面对无理取闹的国阵议员，我坦然地对他们说：“ 我就是因为爱国，所以我才参加在野党，来监督政府 施政。”

Monkeys scream like them too, it was clearly a personal attack, not the correct place, the correct time and the correct person to shout “Merdeka”. I wonder if anybody start chanting the “Merdeka” word suddenly that we should comply? Well I heard some Mat Rempit chant it, my crazed neighbour chant it the whole day, should we follow to show that we love our country? Anybody can answer I’m sure…
Well the monkeys shouted on TV, so from TV we’ll see the monkeys…haha…
I don’t fly flag but I….
1) pay my taxes
2) do not litter
3) look out for the results of our athletes in the newspapers, cheer them on
4) be nice and polite to people of all races
5) be cheerful and helpful to foreigners than need help
not a lot but much more substance than flying the flag and litter the celebration area after the Merdeka celebration.
Really all these show on the merdeka does not mean a thing if an infant has to lost her hand due to negligence; increased bigotry and racism; worsening crime rate; Indonesians hammering our country’s treatment of their karate team official etc…..
For show only/feel good factor for election time….
Let’s pull up our sleeves and do some real work to make Malaysia better.
