The public amenities there - library, stadium, parks, community halls are first class. Even student areas are availbale in public libraries and HDB flats - rows of empty table and chairs for students to sit and study free from distraction. People get their tax money' worth. Just when wwe lament the debacle of our national football team, one has to question the availability of football fields for our young talent to play, train and compete on. I wonder where does our tax, assessment and quit rent goes to? We have cracked roads, broken up pavements, uncollected rubbish, smelly drains, flash floods, dirty five footway caused by irresponsible citizens and businesses. I tell you, Malaysia is growing into an eye sore coming into its 50 years. Rather than growing up into a graceful gentlemen, Malaysia is getting to be like a dirty, unkempt old man. Just visit Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan and I feel so ashamed! I stayed in Hong Kong and Singapore before. The public amenities there - library, stadium, parks, community halls are first class.
