Shabery Cheek must have conveniently forgotten that there are sworn affidavits from ISA detainees stating that they were forced to drink urine, and one was stripped and made to enact the crucification of Jesus Christ.

In Malaysia, there is no specific law that tackles human trafficking. What we have are the incidental laws. In fact the word “trafficking” only appears in two statues i.e. the Dangerous Drug Act and the Child Act, where it is an offence to traffic children, buying and selling of children.

Political parties are increasingly using the Internet as a communication tool to prepare for the upcoming general election, with opposition parties being more dependent on their websites than the Barisan Nasional.
